When Maureen Bell joined VWD she didn’t have the 123 Play 4 FREE website as a resource but despite this she soon found she was playing for free and building a business.
My name is Maureen Bell. In September 2002 I was a 63 year old retired lady just about to go off on a six week visit to Australia for a family wedding!One day I received a call from a friend, Tony Gill, to say that his wife Barbara was having some challenges with her health and we exchanged regular calls to bring me up to date with her progress.
It was whilst I was doing this that Tony told me she was improving rapidly, and to cap it all they had won the lottery at the weekend! I was delighted for them!At this point he asked if I played the lottery – to which I answered NO.
For five years I belonged to a syndicate, for which I paid £5 a week, but we won NOTHING and after five years the guy who ran it stopped – so I stopped!! Tony then asked if I would like to belong to a new syndicate, so I asked how much it was. He replied £5 a week BUT you get 88 lines, 44 on a Wednesday and 44 on a Saturday. I told him I would join and would send him a cheque of £20 in advance every 4 weeks – to which he replied “You can join online”!!
Within a week I had introduced 8 people, so not only was I playing for FREE BUT I was also getting paid to do the lottery!!Off I went to Australia and sponsored members of my family, two of whom won over £200 on the very first draw!! I was so excited – this was easiest networking business I had ever done.
Everyone that I met was given my business card, and I started to contact my other friends, some of whom joined immediately, others later on when they realised what a good business it was!!In my first year I earned almost £7,000, not a massive amount, but not bad for a very part time business, AND I was also winning on the lottery!!I kept on telling everyone about it and in my second year I MORE THAN DOUBLED my earnings to over £16,000 – the following year I increased it again by over 25% to earn almost £21,000 (how many people get a 25% rise in a year?)This is my fourth year with the company and my income is about to TREBLE! I am on target to earn £65,000 - £70,000.
THAT IS AN AMAZING BUSINESS!!My proudest moment was at this year’s convention in Birmingham when I was awarded a picture to go on my wall as one of Brodie’s 11 to qualify for Las Vegas. Las Vegas was an experience that I would not have wanted to miss – top hotel (The Wynn), fantastic food, wonderful shows, and a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon made this a time which will always be held dear in my memory.
I have the most wonderful team and I am so glad that Tony Gill asked me that all important question, ‘do you play the lottery’, so if you want part of this, don’t let anyone go past you without asking them the same and giving them your business card – they might laugh and tell you it wont work – but I assure you, you’ll have the last laugh!!
